HOLLY [6/2/1997
to 2/8/07]
Born 6/2/1997 AT JERRY GREEN
FOUNDATION SANCTUARY, BLIDWORTH, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE

One of eight pups , Holly was a
happy mischievous pup who always brought a smile to your faces
.
Like most pups Holly went through a destructive phase...

~Quotation ~
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!
|
...But from the age of eighteen months she was the
perfect pet.
She was intelligent ,very obedient, gentle and
extremely faithful
And touched the hearts of everyone who knew her.
You could not fail to love such an adorable dog.
She is greatly missed and will never be forgotten...
Who passed away on the 2/8/07
loved by all the Eiben family...
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am the song that will never end.
I am the love of family and friend.
I am the child who has come to rest
In the arms of the Father who knows him best.
When you see the sunset fair,
I am the scented evening air.
I am the joy of a task well done.
I am the glow of the setting sun.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!

KATIE
1991 to 14 APRIL 2007

BEAUTIFUL KATIE
"In
March 1996, my ex-husband and I paid a visit to Jerry Green’s in Broughton.
We could have readily adopted any of the dogs there, but one in particular
stood out: a timid, little ginger dog who didn’t bark for attention when we
passed her kennel, but came over to say hello and licked our fingers
affectionately.
Our minds were made up
immediately: we wanted Katie.
Katie soon
became a different dog altogether. Her shy ways were quickly replaced with
a real sense of humour and fun. I remember her ‘Penelope Pitstop’ runs down
the garden, her mad and usually vocal ‘ra-ras’ around the lawn, and having
passers-by in fits of laughter as she barked and bounced at kites soaring
tens of metres above her head.
But she had
her thoughtful and caring moments too...
...nobody
gave better hugs or made you feel more loved than her.

...My sunshine girl died in my arms on the 14th
April 2007. At the grand old age of at least 16, she’d been battling
ill-health with a brave heart for a few months, but the tumour in her tummy
had grown so big that she could no longer walk or sit down properly...

Katie ...
She filled our
lives
with cloudless
SUNSHINE

"Letting go of someone you have loved so very much is the hardest thing
to do, but I know she is now somewhere beyond the rainbow.”

"As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image of a place that’s trouble free,
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful rainbow, and on the other side
were meadows rich and beautiful, lush green and wide!
Running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh, healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do..."
...
"I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I’m alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright glow pierced the
night.
‘Twas the glow of many candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need me, we’re never far apart,
If you look beyond the rainbow and listen with your heart”

TIGGER
2000 to DECEMBER 2006

Tigger enjoying the sea ...
We had Tigger, a
Staffie cross, from Blidworth back in 2002. He settled in with us straight
away. He was the most loyal and loving little dog you could ever wish for.
He loved his home and was always ready for a walk. He had so many nicknames
- Tiggs, Tigsby, Tiglet.
We
would take him to the coast most weekends as we have a caravan there and
Tigger would do anything for a run on the beach with a stick. He would go
into the sea and bound over the waves to fetch a stick.
Every
night he would be ready to go up to bed at 8pm with our 5 year old son
who is missing him so much. He was very protective towards him.
***
Tigger had just turned 6 years old and was full of life.
Three weeks before Christmas, he suddenly started being very sick every
morning. We took him straight to the vets, who were baffled until they
opened him up. He had a very large tumour in his pancreas (very rare for a
dog so young). They wanted us to agree to not bring him round, but we
wanted to say goodbye to him. We made the right decision (even the vet said
so), as we had another 9 days with him at home, where he enjoyed being
thoroughly spoilt, eating chicken and steak.
4 days before
Christmas 2006, we finally had to say goodbye - he was starting to suffer.
We
buried him at the top of our garden at his "lookout post" where he spent
many happy hours looking out the gate onto the field behind us.
He was buried with all
his Christmas presents and his favourite toys and blankets.
|
We were totally devastated
and still cannot believe he
has gone...

“We miss you so much Tigger -
your tail always wagging and your constant need to be fussed and loved.
We love you very much... "

DEEDEE
1995 to DECEMBER 2006

At the Caravan

Waiting for Mum

We got
DeeDee, a Collie X from Blidworth Sanctuary in the March of 2000 at the
approximate age of 4 years and she spent nearly 7 years with us
You said at
the time that she didn't particularly like men, but within a few days Dad
was the man for her!
So it
is with great sadness that we have to tell you of the sad loss of DeeDee.
We had been told by the Vet that DeeDee had a large tumour on her Liver and
that there was nothing much that could be done for her in her condition
We were given some drugs to give DeeDee hopefully at least 3 more months of
life. But sadly over night DeeDee took a turn for the worst, before we
could even start giving her the treatment
And so on
Thursday the 14th of December DeeDee was put to sleep, so She would not
suffer anymore...
Christmas was a very sad time in our household after losing such a close
family member so near to Christmas |
DeeDee
We
have sent you some pictures of DeeDee doing what She really enjoyed
doing the most...
... whether it be in
the River Trent or the Sea, this was her favourite pastime ...

[click a thumbnail to enlarge]
We had a wonderful 7 year
relationship with DeeDee and she will be sadly missed...

Quotation:
"I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying."

MURPHY
NOVEMBER 1995 to NOVEMBER 2006

Murphy
Murphy, a Labrador/Red Setter cross, was adopted by us in November 1997 from
the Jerry Green Dog Rescue at Wressle, Brigg..

He settled in to his new home very quickly ...
and became attached to all members of his new family.
It
was a pleasure to take Murphy for his daily walks, and especially to
Hartsholme Park, Lincoln, five minutes away, where he made many friends -
both with other dogs and their owners.
|

He was also known to
many residents on this estate and quickly established those who would
give him a tit bit.

Murphy will be a
great loss but will always be remembered by us...
