K-NINE-CARE ...

K-NINE-CARE

This is  a very small 5 man voluntary organisation named K-Nine-Care.

They rescue from Huddersfield and Wakefield pounds and re-home.

They tell us they have been successful in re-homing at a steady rate

Right now they need some experienced help with a special dog ...

He is called LEON

Kathy from K-Nine-Care tells us ...

"I am currently fostering a German Shepherd x Lurcher, very affectionate, loyal and extremely intelligent, we started dog training classes and simple agility, he knows basic commands, learns very quickly and wants to please. Very athletic, moves beautifully with very long stride. 22 inches high, short hair, 1 year old very handsome. Neutered, wormed, de-flead, housetrained. Doesn't jump up or mouth, very calm around the house. Easy to live with, quiet, not destructive, no separation anxiety.

However, he has a few problems:

1). stressed with new dogs on a lead until he knows them (but lives happily with my 2 male dogs and is not ever aggressive in the pack neither is he wanting to be top dog) and

2). chases sheep and cats.

I have written a 4 page document, which I can email to interested people describing in detail his likes and dislikes all his little ways.  I have also made a DVD showing him playing with dogs.  I would give whatever support I can to his new owner and have him back if things don't work out.

Needs special experienced home where he will be used for training/agility as his brain is so good, with patience to sort out his problems.

Someone who is used to Shepherds or Dobermans would be ideal but he is not as big so would suit a smaller house.

No kids under 15 years please. "

Here is a new photo of Leon

He is playing with another rescue in the kitchen - it was a ten minute Tug of War and the teddy bear lost - it was ripped to shreds!!

The value of this photo is that it demonstrates that Leon is happy to play even though he gets stressed with dogs on a lead.  He really wants to live with another young playful dog - this is an important message.
