   LIZ GILBEY
  Local Rawcliffe Author

"Liz Gilbey prefers being with dogs or horses, but spent 30 years as a journalist, feature writer and theatre critic on her local Midlands evening daily whilst writing freelance on the arts for a wide range of newspapers, magazines, radio and theatres.

Life has also encompassed serving on the (then) Independent Broadcasting Authority and her former Women's Institute County Federation, being a lifelong blood donor, teaching road safety, belonging to the Dorothy L Sayers Society and relaxing on the Norfolk Broads.

Now qualified to live in Yorkshire thanks to her Yorkshire son in law, and writing mainly short stories and serials for  The People's Friend weekly and CADS (Crime and Detective Stories) magazine, she's still answering those unanswerable questions 'do you think of all the words yourself?' and 'have you ever met anyone famous?'

As well as dog walking for Jerry Green, hobbies include restoring her quirky wooden house.
