Did I  tell you that a fox came here in daytime?

I sat at the PC indoors and Signe was laying in the door-opening when I suddenly heard the roosters calling for help. I immediately looked out and saw a fox approaching rapidly, and in the same instant I was out screaming and waving my arms.

Thank goodness I frightened it just when it was about so grab a hen! ...And Signe was still asleep! She is getting old now, 14 in January. So now the fowls, and even Mucklan the rabbit,  have to stay in  the chicken run for good. But it is very large, so it actually is no cruelty to animals even though they are trying to convince me on that.

UPDATE ON THE CHICKS :

Great granny Bibbi is still such a good chick mum and I´m so happy for her.

And of course even for old uncle Gusten who also still takes very good care of the chicks.

The chicks are really happy now and have completely got rid of the trauma!

Linnéa and Martin came yesterday and stayed overnight

Linnéa  brought a  rabbit  -

Mucklan´s  new wife Bodil !!! -

from a pet rescue centre in Stockholm.

Even though this is an arranged marriage they fell in love immediately !

...and are now spending their honeymoon together  in the chicken run!

and here are Mucklan

and his new wife Bodil

...together  !!!

This morning Linnéa, Martin and I went up at 4 o´clock and went to Nyköping Airport

since they were going to Rome for  a holiday.

When we passed Malmsnäs in the dawn a wild boar crossed the country road

and I almost hit it with the car.

...Luckily I always drive very slowly here in our road

since it is very common with wild animals crossing it.

so all the animals and fowls

are having a lovely summer

side by side by side by side ...

here come the Red Deer again !   Scrumping for Apples in the Orchard..

what a lovely way to spend the season...

and now for some more good news ..

Just have to tell you that Tuffbocken (the tough buck) just showed up when we sat in the garden and took a drink - Lars, Signe and I.

I have not seen him since May, and I have been a bit worried because the hunt for roe bucks started last week, as well as the hunt for red deer kids. But now he came and ate some apples very close to where we sat, and I talked to him and told him to stay here in the Humlekärr orchard as long as the hunt is going on. But when I went in for Old Betty (my camera!), and came out again, he had disappeared.

However, now I at least know he is still alive!

Vitnos, one of Tuffbocken´s wives,  was just here in the orchard with her little twins!!! So very sweet.
