Local Villages by Liz Gilbey ...

HORNSEA ...

HORNSEA

Hornsea Mere is the largest natural lake in Yorkshire -

and the town is worth a visit too.

A pleasant little seaside place that boasts a Freeport shopping centre and lovely sandy beaches, Hornsea is low key and dog friendly.

Town, beach, caravan sites and shopping centres are all nicely separate.

There is a handsome park, interesting shops, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Hornsea Pottery is commemorated in the terrific little museum.

If you have never been, make the effort.

Parking is easy, the nearby villages are varied and attractive

...and there are good fish and chip shops and cafes too.
