   GIRLS'

   further TRIPS                2010

Our girly days out ...

resumed with these FURTHER

fab outings

In summer 2010

we had a day trips to

BEDAR, and

NIJAR and AGUA AMARGA

once again with

cameras...

We were now able to get out and about again after our long hot summer and our  first luncheon was to a white pueblo a few kilometres inland from Mojacar called Bedar.

BEDAR

We travelled from Arboleas across country and up through the hills -  Boy oh boy were the views incredible although I must admit to having had my eyes closed on occasion as heights are not my strong point.

Maggie, Annie and I arrived well before lunch so that we could spend some time exploring the steep narrow  streets of the pueblo and as this one  is high up we  got  some spectacular views  and  where on a clear day you can see the sea.

Unfortunately it was rather hazy but you could just make out the line of the Mediterranean in the distance.

Whilst walking around we came across some adult exercise equipment, something which many of the local villages around here have put in place to hopefully help keep the older population fit.

...and Maggie

The three of us had a great 20 minutes or so trying out the various bits of apparatus ...

testing our strength and flexibility

and we had such a good laugh.

After all the excitement we went and had a Paella for lunch !

NIJAR and AGUA AMARGA

First we called into NIJAR

a pueblo specialising in the colourful local pottery

where we managed find one or two  things to buy...

But we then dashed off to the coast to a lovely secluded bay south of Mojacar

called Agua Amarga.

It is only a small place, a jewel of a find with restaurants right on the edge of the beach.

We slipped our shoes off and walked along the waters edge and the sea was so lovely and warm.

Because it is the end of the season there were a number of people about and the boats were bobbing at their moorings but it was very pleasant.

After lunch we found it difficult to pull ourselves away

Girls further Trips 10

and it was 5 p.m. before we knew where we were and then had to dash home again.

It was another great day out

and as always we looked forward to the next ones..
