MAY NEWSLETTER

Greetings from sunny Spain ...

and it really is almost the start of

“blazing June” !

Summer is definitely ...      HERE!!!

and Chutchy says

it's time to get outside !

The auxiliary heaters have gone into storage and the fans are now out.  The bedding has been reduced to a single sheet which is more than warm enough!

May was something of a mixed month with quite a few cloudy days a couple of rainy days  and lots of sunny days.

In the garden the Jacaranda  link has come into blossom which traditionally means the start of the fiesta season

and the Silk Tree link2 -with its delightful scent -is also in flower.

Yuccas are throwing up their flower spikes and I will no doubt feature them next month.

The grapes are developing nicely although it looks as though the crop may be a bit smaller than last year.

  Mike's Soapbox ...

Of course this month sees the annual invasion of British holiday makers, taking advantage of relatives living here to enjoy a cheap holiday!!!    At least it is cheap for the holiday makers but the residents normally find it expensive as staying with relatives seems to imply that you don´t have to chip in for the food, wine, work etc.

One tends to be treated as a free hotel...

restaurant,

bar

taxi service,

and your normal life is severely disrupted by the late hours

and late rising of the holiday making crew.

We learned early on that whilst it is lovely to see friends and relatives

...it is more amenable to deposit them in an hotel

(even if we have to pay)

....and let them visit often  !
